Jim joined Lipman & Katz in 2006 after working as an associate at Thompson & Bowie in Portland, Maine. Jim's legal experience is broad – he completed two judicial clerk ships after law school with the Honorable James Z. Davis, Judge of the Utah Court of Appeals and the Honorable John A. Dooley, Associate Justice of the Vermont Supreme Court.
Jim's roots in Maine are deep. He graduated from Sumner Memorial High School in 1982 and spent approximately ten years engaged in various aspects of the seafood industry before returning to the University of Maine and graduating at the top of his class with a B.A. in English. Jim's academic achievement continued in law school at the University of Maine School of Law where Jim served as Editor-in-Chief of the Maine Law Review.
Jim resides in Augusta. He enjoys skiing, camping, hiking, and – to no surprise given his career before the law – fishing.
